Spreading the love through quilting was our challenge this month. How cool is that? We were to create and give away a project made with the AccuQuilt BOB (Block on Board) die, combined with the GO! Qube 8″ Mix and Match Block. My BOB was Hattie’s Choice and I combined it with the Susannah block.
Everything I need to make my Hattie’s Choice block is on one cutting die. The AccuQuilt Go! Cutter makes all my cuts perfect, and I love how the units line up with dog ears already cut off.

To make the Susannah block, I used numbers 2, 5, 6, and 8 from the GO! Qube.

I did my original design on EQ8 and then built the project on my design wall as I went.

I used Island Batik’s Solids and played with the design to get the secondary circular design.
On My Design Wall
To piece my quilt I used Aurifil 50 weight thread with a Schmetz Microtex needle. I used Hobbs 80/20 batting and Aurifil Thread for the quilting.
I’m going to give this quilt to my neighbors, a young couple that I hope will like the modern look. I choose them because my husband and I have been having a lot of construction work done in our backyard: not only is the noise and dust annoying but we had to use their yard to bring in a huge pool spa. It was a pretty scary delivery and could have done great damage to their property. They were really nice neighbors supporting our endeavor.

What a lovely gesture, what lovely neighbours and what a fabulous quilt.

Great job, and a quilt for using their yard to get your spa in place is fair trade, I think! Enjoy the spa!
